What do I need to complete my application to Higher Education Demo?

  • An online account
  • The course title that you want to apply to
  • Educational qualifications/transcripts
  • Evidence of Proficiency in English Language
  • Personal Statement
  • Portfolio
  • Copy of biodata page of your passport
  • Full name and contact details for your referee(s).Postgraduate applicants need to provide 2 references one of which must be a professional or academic.
  • CV (optional)

How do I create a new online account to submit an application form?

Go to https://hedemo.heiapply.com/application and complete the form, keeping note of your email address and password that you used.

How do I log in to my account?

Go to https://hedemo.heiapply.com/application/login and put in your email address and password that you used to register your account with.

What if I forget my password?

Contact us if you have forgotten your password support@heiapply.com. We will identify you and send the password securely to you, or give you access to reset your password.

Do I use this as well as UCAS for applications?

You can apply directly to study at Higher Education Demo using this portal or via UCAS. If you apply via UCAS you will still need to create an account on this portal to submit the required documents, e.g. portfolio If you've applied via UCAS please make sure that you tell us your UCAS Code when asked so that we can connect your information with you application form from UCAS.

Can I take my time to complete the application form?

Yes, of course. You can save each section and come back to it at a later date. Just don't forget your password.

Can I edit after submitting my application form?

No. Once you have submitted we review the information that you have provided. We may ask you for more information, but you can't edit your application.

Can I track my application after submitting?

Yes, just log in and use Application Tracker in the Quicklinks menu.

Can I use an Agent to apply to Higher Education Demo?

Yes, you can use any approved Higher Education Demo agent. Contact us to find your nearest agent.

I have submitted my application. What happens next?

The International Admissions Team will check that your application form is completed and that the required supporting documents have been provided. It is your responsibility to promptly send the required documents and portfolio. Your application will be submitted for academic review and you will be invited to an interview. If you can't attend an interview at Higher Education Demo, we are happy to conduct one via Skype. While we endeavour to process all completed application forms within 10 days, please note this may take longer during the busy period.

Can I contact someone about my application?

Yes, if you have any questions during the admissions process please get in touch with us via the Communication Inbox in your Quicklinks Menu

I want to change my referee - how do I do this?

If you have not submitted your application form, you can log in and edit it straight away. If you have submitted and wish to change your referee, then please contact us by logging in and sending us a communication through your Communication Inbox.

What is the best thing to upload for my portfolio?

You'll want to make a good impression with your portfolio, so we've put together some useful tips to help you showcase your talents at interview:

  • Make sure you appreciate what the course is about to which you're applying.
  • Show how well you're suited to the course requirements and how your ability and talents will benefit.
  • Demonstrate your understanding of a range of media and your range of skills. For example, through both new and completed projects ranging from digital work through (and as appropriate) to storyboards, animation, printing, paintings, drawings, photography, film, etc.
  • Make sure that your portfolio is logically organised - showing your development work, your creative thinking and processes, the various stages of execution of your work and how it developed and was completed. If you can, include a range of styles and media used.
  • Show the final work, alongside sketchbooks, notebooks, contact sheets, etc.
  • Large or three-dimensional pieces can be shown using photographs or via Flickr or YouTube.
  • Try and include a range of projects in order to showcase your potential and achievements.

Be prepared to discuss your ideas and what you hope to achieve by studying on the course.

What is the maximum file upload size?

Maximum upload size is 10 megabytes. Any files larger than 10 megabytes should be uploaded to personal or public online storage facilities and a link provided in the comments section as a portfolio link. Accepted File types: doc,xls, pdf, jpeg/jpg

I have started an application to a Higher Education Demo degree program but I have changed my mind and decided not to submit it after all. Can I delete it ?

You can't delete it, but can you contact us through your Communication Inbox and we will do it for you.

I have submitted my application. How can I be sure that I have sent all required documents?

If you go to Section 5) Portfolio/Document Upload you will be able to see all the documents that you have uploaded to the system.

In Application Tracker there is a link to your files as well.

Only when we have reviewed your uploaded files and confirmed that they acceptable will green ticks appear in your Application Tracker.
